Queens, NY – Fatal Accident Takes One Life on Atlantic Ave near Lefferts Blvd
Queens, NY (July 6, 2023) – A 911 call made to police in Queens sent authorities to the scene of a fatal traffic accident. It happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 6.
Reports show the incident took place between two vehicles at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard. One person reportedly became trapped underneath their vehicle due to the crash. Police and firefighters remained at the crash site for an extended period of time in an effort to help the people injured.
The NYPD said that a Mercedes Benz C300 collided with an NYC Department of Environmental Protection truck. The collision ejected a man, age 38, from the truck and pinned him underneath it.
The man sustained severe trauma to his head and body and was pronounced deceased a short time after the incident took place by professional medical personnel.
A man was arrested in connection with the crash, sources said. Authorities in Queens continue to investigate the details of the incident.
