After your injury, our New Jersey personal injury lawyers will investigate your accident and consult with experts like accident reconstructionists. We use proof such as police reports, medical reports, expert testimony, witness statements, photographs, videos, and other documentation.

As the injured victim, the burden of proof is placed on your shoulders when it comes to establishing driver liability for your injuries, meaning you will have to show evidence that adequately demonstrates their fault.

Some common causes of New Jersey pedestrian accidents include:

  • Driver cell phone use
  • Speeding
  • Drunk driving
  • Malfunctioning traffic signals
  • Poor roadway design
  • Unlawful turns
  • Failing to obey driving laws

In some instances, there can be more than one cause and more than one person at fault. For example, a vehicle malfunction or defective roadway may have caused the driver to lose control of their car. In that case, the vehicle parts manufacturer, or government entity tasked with maintaining the roadway could also be partly liable.
