New York Car Wrecks
Car crashes are, unfortunately, extremely common in the state of New York. Hundreds of thousands of accidents are reported on a yearly basis in the Empires State. Several different types of accidents occur; however, the most common include rear-end collisions, single-vehicle accidents, and intersection crashes. Rollover accidents are relatively less common than other types of crashes, however, when they do occur, they usually end in serious injuries or even fatalities. In fact, the fatality rate related to rollover crashes is much higher than that of other types of crashes.
Factors that contribute to rollover accidents include traveling at high speeds, taking sharp turns, and loss of tire traction. Though vehicle malfunctions, geographical location, and inclement weather all contribute to causing auto collisions, driver negligence is the main reason the majority of car crashes take place in the United States. Drivers who are distracted, intoxicated, or speeding cause over 90% of reported car crashes in the US, according to information provided by the NHTSA.
Sustaining serious injuries in a car crash can be a devastating and overwhelming experience. Injured accident victims may find themselves unable to work and live their lives the way they once did, and they may even be stuck in the hospital for a lengthy period of time. This can be expensive, depressing, and anxiety-inducing. The average cost related to medical care that stems from a serious car crash injury is in the tens of thousands of dollars, which can easily put the average individual’s bank account too close to zero. This is a difficult fact that a lot of injured crash victims must face while they wonder how they will financially recover.
