Barrington, NY – One Killed in Rollover Crash on SR-14A

Barrington, NY (July 4, 2023) – A teenager from Yates County lost his life in a fatal auto accident. The incident occurred early Monday morning, July 3, in Barrington. 

Information provided by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office shows that officers were sent to the crash scene after receiving reports of a rollover collision with injuries. The wreck reportedly happened at around 7:00 a.m. 

Police say that a 20-year-old man from Dundee was headed south on State Route 14A when his vehicle left the left side of the roadway. Police say the vehicle rolled over numerous times, and struck a culvert and several trees before landing on its roof. 

A passenger present in the vehicle, identified as a 16-year-old teenager from Starkey, was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The driver was transported to Robert Packer Hospital to be treated for his injuries. 

Authorities in Barrington continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
