Bayonne, NJ (April 26, 2023) – A woman identified as 74-year-old Maryann Patey lost her life in a fatal pedestrian accident in Bayonne. The incident was reported to police on Monday morning, April 25.

Officials with the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. At approximately 11:50 a.m., authorities were notified of a pedestrian struck near 22nd Street and Broadway.

Authorities went to the scene to find Patey with a serious head injury. She was transported by ambulance to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased at 12:46 p.m.

The vehicle that struck her was identified as a black Nissan operated by a woman from Bayonne, age 31. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
