Bergen County, NJ – Two Injured in Car Accident on Godwin Ave near Cross Ave

Bergen County, NJ (October 28, 2022) – Two people sustained injuries in a Wednesday morning auto accident in Bergen County. Reports show that their vehicle struck a utility pole near the United States Postal Service office in Midland Park. 

Emergency crews were dispatched to Godwin Avenue south of Cross Avenue at around 4:45 a.m. to render aid to those involved in the wreck. Midland Park police and firefighters along with Ridgewood police were observed at the scene. 

What caused the wreck remains unknown at this time. However, a Hyundai hatchback hit and split a pole, tearing down utility wires onto the road. The vehicle then struck the corner of a nearby building a short distance up the street. The vehicle’s front end was significantly damaged in the collision. 

Two people present in the vehicle at the time of the crash were injured. Part of Godwin Avenue was closed while utility crews worked to change out the pole and first responders worked at the crash scene.
