Berkeley Heights, NJ – One Dead, One Injured After Being Struck by NJ Transit Train Near Valley Ave BridgeNY/NJ Legal News
Berkeley Heights, NJ (June 03, 2022) – A man was killed and a woman injured when they were hit by a New Jersey Transit train on Thursday, June 2nd in Union County.
Police said they were struck by Gladstone Branch Train No. 419, departing from Hoboken to Gladstone, at about 1:40 p.m. in Berkeley Heights in the area of the Valley Avenue Bridge.
The severity of the woman’s injuries is unknown. Neither one of the victim’s identities has been released.
None of the 10 passengers on board the train at the time of the incident were injured.
Service to the Gladstone Branch was suspended near the Berkeley Heights Station as New Jersey Transit Police headed up an investigation.
