Bridgewater, NJ – Multi-Vehicle Accident at Finderne Ave & E Main Street
Bridgewater, NJ (January 25, 2024) – A man from Somerset was charged with driving while intoxicated after he caused a car accident on Saturday night, January 20.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Finderne Avenue and East Main Street after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident. Authorities determined that a 2020 Kia Optima, driven by 52-year-old Omaru Massaquoi, a Somerset resident, was headed north on Finderne Avenue. While approaching the intersection with East Main Street, Massaquoi turned left and struck a 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI which was headed south on Finderen Avenue. The 2013 WV Golf left the roadway due to the impact and struck a utility pole. Massaquoi was arrested at the crash scene for drunk driving and failing to yield at an intersection. At least one person suffered injuries in the accident, though the extent of those injuries remains unknown.
Authorities in Bridgewater continue to investigate.
