New Jersey Truck Collisions
Truck collisions are usually more severe than other traffic accidents involving different vehicles. This is most often due to the massive size and weight difference between trucks and passenger vehicles. The average commercial truck is around 20 to 30 times heavier than the average passenger vehicle. This poses a serious threat when a commercial truck and a passenger vehicle become involved in a traffic accident. Those who are inside the passenger vehicle almost always sustain severe or even fatal injuries. Alarmingly, most of the truck collisions in the United States happen because of negligent drivers. Approximately 400,000 truck collisions are reported per year in the United States, accounting for nearly 7% of all traffic accidents in the country. Nearly 30% of these collisions end in injuries while around 11% take the lives of at least one person involved.
