Bronx, N.Y. – Woman Dies After Being Hit by Bus on Story AvenueRobert A. Solomon, P.C.
Bronx, N.Y. (February 14, 2019) – A woman has died following a hit-and-run bus accident in Castle Hill. The fatal New York pedestrian accident occurred around 10 a.m. near the Havemeyer and Story Avenue intersection.
According to police, a 68-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was hit by a school bus which then fled the scene of the accident. The woman was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she was then pronounced dead by doctors. Police are unsure if the bus driver was aware they had hit a pedestrian or not, possibly explaining why they did not stop at the scene.
The accident is currently being reviewed and investigated. Residents near the accident say that buses will regularly drive down the streets despite signs that read “No Buses,” which is becoming an ever-growing issue for them.
As of this posting, no arrests have been made.
We would like to send our condolences to the family who has lost their loved one in this accident. We know how hard this time is for a family, and we wish you nothing but love and peace at this time.
