Bronx, NY - Bicyclist Injured in Crash on Melrose Ave

Bronx, NY (February 24, 2024) - A bicyclist suffered injuries in a traffic accident that happened in the South Bronx area of the Bronx on Friday morning, February 23. 

Multiple emergency workers were sent to the crash scene located in the 800 block of Melrose Avenue at approximately 6:00 a.m. The cyclist was reported to be in serious condition when police and EMTs arrived on-site. At this time, however, their identity has not been reported. Details regarding the accident show that a Land Rover struck a delivery worker and then fled the scene before abandoning the vehicle near 158th Street. Police closed the roads between 161st and 156th Street to work at the scene and investigate the collision.
