Bronx, NY (September 15, 2023) – On Friday morning, September 15, a 911 caller contacted police in the Bronx concerning a dangerous and deadly incident at a daycare center. Reports show that a 1-year-old boy lost his life, a two-year-old boy is in critical condition, and an eight-month-old girl and another two-year-old boy are in stable condition.

The incident occurred at a daycare center in the 2000 block of Morris Avenue, however, the details of what happened are currently unclear and being investigated by area authorities. Reports show a hazardous materials team was investigating an unknown substance found in a basement. Emergency personnel responded to what was thought to be a carbon monoxide leak, however, crews found no readings of a gas leak inside the building.

Police are still working to determine what caused the incident to occur.
