Bronx, NY – Woman Killed in Crash with Two Semi-Trucks on Cross Bronx Expressway

Bronx, NY (November 29, 2022) – A deadly chain-reaction crash took place on the Cross Bronx Expressway in Morris Heights. A driver was killed when her range rover overturned and caught fire after getting sandwiched between two tractor-trailers.

The deadly crash happened around 12:30 this morning, November 29. Local news reports stated the tragic chain of events blocked the westbound lanes of the Cross expressway for several hours. Clean-up crews spent the morning cleaning up the wrecked debris, and the roadway was not reopened until about 12 hours later.

Video footage from the scene shows three vehicles engulfed in flames, including two semi-trucks and a passenger car. Just after 12:30 Tuesday morning, the woman driving a Range Rover rear-ended the back of a tractor-trailer. While she was stopped in her car, she was rear-ended by another semi. All three vehicles then went up in flames.

A witness stated that immediately after the truck struck the woman, the vehicles caught fire. The two truck drivers were able to make it out safely, however, the woman lost her life in the crash.

The impact of the collision was heard by everyone in the area, and the fire was so large that people could smell the smoke from miles away. Authorities in the Bronx continue to investigate the details of the incident.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
