New York Structure Fires
If you are hurt in a fire, it is possible that your injuries may have been caused by the negligence of another person. Many house and apartment fires are caused by negligence demonstrated by landlords or property owners. When these people ignore the safety of their renters and occupants, severe property damage and even burns, smoke inhalation, and other types of injuries can result.
Auto collisions and industrial accidents may result in severe burn injuries. In these and other types of accidents, you or a loved one of yours may be eligible to collect financial compensation when you file a personal injury lawsuit against the individual, entity, or other who may have been responsible. Some incidents/products that may result in or cause burn injuries include:
- Gas explosions
- Car crashes
- Defective electrical equipment
- Flammable textiles
- Battery acid
- Bleach and ammonia products
- Faulty home appliances
- Defective carbon monoxide
- Improper handling of scalding liquid
These products and situations may result in people becoming injured. Sometimes, these injuries can be so severe that individuals end up losing their lives. These tragedies often happen due to the blatant negligence of contractors, landlords, building managers, property owners, and product manufacturers. When someone has sustained serious injuries in a residential fire that may have been caused by the negligence of another person, entity, or other, the victim is usually eligible for compensation when they bring a personal injury claim against the at-fault party. Financial compensation may be able to cover the costs related to your injuries, including medical care, lost wages, pain, suffering, emotional turmoil, and more.
