Drunk Driving Accidents in Buffalo
New York is a no-fault state in terms of car accidents. This means that in the event of a collision, each driver’s insurance will pay for at least a portion of the damages, no matter which of the drivers was at fault. This is generally a good thing for anyone who was involved in the accident. It cuts down on time-consuming and expensive bickering over whose fault the accident was.
The phrase no-fault, however, seems wildly inappropriate when applied to an accident where someone was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. If you have been injured by a drunk driver, you know exactly who is to blame. Even worse, your injuries and other losses that you sustain could easily cost way over the $50,000 no-fault insurance cap.
