New York Car Accidents
The United States sees millions of car accidents every single year. In one recent year, there were over 6 million accidents recorded that caused injuries to over 4 million people. The majority of these accidents are, unfortunately, caused by negligent drivers. Driver negligence has become a serious issue in the US throughout the past decade. Drivers think it’s ok to check their phones, eat, groom, and put on makeup while behind the wheel. This is never, ever safe and almost always results in some type of accident. Sadly, about half of the collisions that occur in the US end in injuries for at least one person.
When car accidents happen, sometimes, only property damage results. Unfortunately, about half of the time, people involved end up sustaining serious injuries. Depending on the cause of an accident, someone may be held responsible for the resulting damages. Those who responsibly conduct themselves while driving don’t usually have to worry about being held liable for collisions; however, those who act negligently usually have to pay fines and even spend time in jail when accidents happen due to their behavior.
In 2015, there was an 11% increase in the number of auto accidents in America. While the population in the US continues to grow, so does the number of auto collisions, as well as the number of angry, inattentive, careless, and inexperienced drivers on the roadways. Additionally, overcrowded roadways are a contributing factor to the increased rate of car crashes seen in the US.
