Driver Hurt in Head-On Crash on Rte 519 in White Twp., NJ

September 11, 2026

White Township, NJ (September 11, 2026) – A driver was injured after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle on Route 519 South.

At 5:07 p.m., New Jersey State troopers said a Mercedes-Benz traveling south crossed the double yellow line into the northbound lane on Route 519 and struck a Subaru SUV head-on.

The Subaru driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Troopers have not said what led the Mercedes to cross into the opposing lane, and they continue to actively investigate.

We hope the injured driver has a smooth and full recovery.

How Comparative Negligence Affects Head-On Crash Claims in White Township, NJ

Driver Hurt in Head-On Crash on Rte 519

New Jersey follows a modified comparative negligence rule, in which an injured driver can recover damages as long as they're found less than 51% at fault for a crash, though any settlement gets reduced by their percentage of fault.

This standard becomes especially important in head-on collisions, where fault tends to look obvious at first glance but can get contested once insurance adjusters get involved.

For someone recovering from a head-on impact, the physical toll can include fractures, spinal injuries, or head trauma that require weeks or months of treatment. On top of the medical burden, drivers frequently find themselves negotiating with an insurance company that's looking for any reason to shift blame onto the injured party, even when the facts seem straightforward.

That's where documentation becomes critical. Police reports, witness accounts, and vehicle data can all help establish exactly how a crash unfolded, and a car accident lawyer knows how to gather and present that evidence in a way that pushes back against an insurer's attempt to inflate a driver's share of fault.

At Metro Law, we know how quickly an insurance company can try to spread blame after a two-vehicle crash. If you're dealing with a similar situation, we can walk through your options with you.
