Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey
Anytime a car strikes a pedestrian, the pedestrian sustains the greater injuries. As a result, an estimated 1,000 pedestrians die every year in road accidents nationwide.
Pedestrian accidents are caused by a wide range of factors, the most frequent being driver error. Inclement weather conditions, reduced visibility, poorly laid-out traffic patterns, and the actions of other motorists are all common contributing factors in pedestrian accidents.
Insufficiently marked crosswalks and drivers who do not understand the right-of-way can also play a major role in these injury-causing and potentially fatal accidents.
The truth is that with no external protections against outside forces, pedestrians usually endure the majority of the injuries caused by an impact whether or not they are at fault for the accident.
