New Jersey Car Wrecks

Car crashes continue to be a leading cause of injuries and fatalities in New Jersey. Every year, numerous people are sent to the hospital with broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, and internal injuries due to traffic collisions. Unfortunately, a large percentage of these accidents happen at busy intersections in the state of New Jersey.

Crashes occur at intersections for different reasons. One leading cause is driver negligence/error. This includes things like running stop signs, red lights, improperly turning, or failing to yield the right-of-way. Other times, it’s simply a matter of paying too little attention and not seeing the other vehicle coming.

Another contributing factor of intersection accidents is when one driver attempts to go through a yellow light and winds up T-boning another vehicle that’s already passing through the intersection. This is especially hazardous because there’s often not enough time for either driver to react in order to avoid a crash.

There are some instances where inclement weather can contribute to intersection collisions. For example, if it’s snowing or raining with reduced visibility, it can be more difficult to notice other vehicles approaching an intersection. Also, icy roads can make it more difficult to stop in time if another car suddenly pulls in front of you.
