New Jersey Pedestrian Accidents

Elizabeth, NJ - Pedestrian Collision with Injuries on NJ 27 near North AveIn New York, each year, tens of thousands of auto collisions are reported per year. These wrecks occur for several different reasons, however, most of them are caused by the negligent actions of drivers. Pedestrian wrecks alone end the lives of over 5,000 individuals per year throughout the United States. Negligent driving is the main reason pedestrian accidents take place across the United States and in the state of New Jersey.

Yearly, around 6 million auto collisions are reported throughout the United States, the majority of which are caused by negligent drivers. In these accidents, around 3 million people suffer injuries. When we consider that the better part of these injuries are caused by driver negligence, we see that drivers in the United States need to be more mindful and considerate while behind the wheel, especially while on busy roadways.

Car crash injuries often range from mild scrapes and bruises to conditions that can actually be life-threatening. However, when individuals suffer injuries in pedestrian collisions, they are usually hurt badly enough to be forced to spend time recovering in the hospital or at home. In 2021, over 100,000 auto collisions were reported across the state of New York City alone. Distraction and speeding are often the main cause of these wrecks. Speeding causes over 11,000 fatalities per year in the United States. All of these statistics reiterate the fact that negligent driving has become a serious and even deadly issue in the United States.

The most common forms of negligent driving displayed among American drivers today include intoxication, fatigue, distraction, and speeding. Fatigued driving is much like intoxicated driving, in that our reaction times, judgment, and vision can all become impaired. These are extremely important to keep in safe working order while behind the wheel. Also, driver distraction causes over 400,000 car wrecks each year that take the lives of around 3,000 people. Distracted driving is the type of negligence responsible for the majority of auto collisions in the United States.
