Elmwood Park, N.J. – Teenage Girl Killed in Accident on Route 80NY/NJ Legal News
Elmwood Park, N.J. (August 20, 2019) – A teenage girl has died and two others were injured following a two-vehicle accident, according to authorities. The fatal New Jersey vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, around 8:00 p.m., on Route 80.
Police say the accident occurred when a Honda SUV struck a divider in the road, causing the vehicle to spin out and be hit head-on by an Acura SUV. A passenger in the Honda, 15-year-old Kayla Liriano, of Paterson, was thrown from the vehicle during the accident, sustaining serious fatal injuries. The driver of the Honda, 33-year-old Elizabeth Jiminian-Cruz, also of Paterson, was hospitalized with serious injuries following the accident. The driver of the Acura sustained minor injuries in the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
