Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey
One of the most critical factors to consider when determining how much your claim is worth is future medical expenses. If your injuries will need rehabilitation or continuing medical care, your personal injury claim needs to include financial compensation for your anticipated medical expenses as well. In addition, your claim should include recovery for the lost wages you would have received had you not been injured in the accident.
Every pedestrian injury case is different. The precise value of your claim rests mainly on the permanence and severity of your injuries. The value of your claim is made up of your medical costs, and lost wages, along with intangible losses such as pain, suffering, and decreased quality of life.
Some examples of what injured pedestrians can collect compensation for include:
- Hospital and other medical bills
- Physical therapy expenses
- Cost of the ambulance
- Prescription medications
- Transportation to and from medical appointments
- Lost wages
- Punitive damages
- Pain and suffering
