Fatal Auto Accidents in New Jersey
Millions of motorists travel on roadways throughout New Jersey every day. Although the vast majority of motorists make it to their destinations without any problems, numerous victims end up losing their lives in collisions. Auto collisions claim the lives of nearly 40,000 people every year in the United States. A fair share of these accidents occurs during the night and early-morning hours when drivers have difficulties seeing others sharing the road. Accidents involving semi-trucks result in fatal injuries at an increased rate. When drivers engage in reckless activities while operating their vehicles, speed, or drive impaired, they are more likely to be involved in a serious accident that claims their life or the lives of others involved.
In many cases, surviving relatives are forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funeral arrangements while dealing with overwhelming mental and emotional consequences. When people lose their lives in fatal collisions, they often leave behind friends and family members who are devastated by their loss. In some cases, surviving relatives can contact a wrongful death attorney in New Jersey to protect their legal rights. Families may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face moving forward after an unexpected loss.
