New Jersey Traffic Accidents
Fatal accidents in New Jersey end the lives of hundreds of individuals per year. Sadly, any accident has the potential to end in severe harm to those involved. In the United States, over 6 million car crashes happen per year that injure around 3 million people and end the lives of approximately 40,000. In New Jersey specifically, hundreds of thousands of crashes happen that injure tens of thousands of people and take the lives of hundreds per year. The majority of auto accidents reported in the United States happen due to the actions of negligent drivers.
When multiple vehicles are involved in a collision, those involved in the crash are more apt to suffer severe injuries. There are many different reasons why collisions involving several different vehicles tend to be more devastating than other types of wrecks. This is because any particular vehicle can be struck multiple times, resulting in more severe impacts.
Also, these crashes usually involve speeds that are much higher than other types of crashes. One or more cars involved in the accident may be speeding, which can greatly increase the severity if injuries sustained. Speeding takes the lives of around 11,000 people per year in the US. Other forms of negligent driving that often contribute to multi-vehicle accidents include intoxication, distraction, and fatigue.
Finally, if a larger vehicle, such as an SUV, bus, or truck is involved, an even greater chance of suffering injuries exists.
Regrettably, countless innocent individuals end up losing their lives due to auto accidents that happen throughout the state of New Jersey per year.
