Auto Accidents in New Jersey
Every day, motor vehicle accidents are reported in New Jersey. Many accidents result in serious injuries for those involved. Quite often, collisions on our roadways are preventable. Leading factors include:
- Driving Under the Influence: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is a major cause of car accidents in New Jersey. Impaired drivers have slower reaction times and impaired judgment, making them more likely to cause an accident.
- Reckless Driving: Reckless driving behaviors such as tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and running red lights can all lead to serious car accidents. These behaviors show a lack of regard for other drivers on the road and greatly increase the risk of collisions.
- Poor Weather Conditions: Weather conditions can negatively affect road conditions, make roads slippery, and decrease visibility, increasing the risk of accidents.
- Fatigued Driving: Driving while fatigued or drowsy is a significant cause of car accidents in New Jersey. When drivers are tired, their reaction times are slowed, and they may even fall asleep at the wheel, increasing the chances of an accident.
