New Jersey Car Accidents

Greenwich, NJ - Teenager Killed in Collision on I-295Car accidents continue to be one of the main reasons individuals are killed and injured in the state of New Jersey. Several people are hospitalized each year with serious injuries, including broken bones, brain injuries, and more, due to car accidents. Unfortunately, many of these collisions occur at busy intersections across the Garden State.

Car accidents occur at intersections for many reasons. One main cause is driver error. This includes ignoring stop signs or red lights, improper turns, or failing to yield the right-of-way. Other times, it’s simply a matter of driver distraction and not seeing other vehicles coming in time.

Another leading cause of traffic collisions at intersections is when one driver attempts to travel through a yellow light just before it changes and ends up T-boning another vehicle already moving through the intersection. This is very hazardous because neither driver has enough time to avoid an accident.

Sometimes, bad weather may also contribute to intersection wrecks. For instance, if it’s raining, snowing, or foggy, and visibility is reduced, it can be harder to spot other cars or vehicles on the road. Also, wet roads can make stopping in a timely manner more difficult if another car suddenly appears in front of you.

Sometimes, the injuries suffered by crash victims are so severe. If you have recently lost a loved one in an auto collision caused by driver negligence, a Greenwich wrongful death attorney can help you exercise and preserve your legal rights toward collecting financial compensation. After your loved one’s accident, you may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible driver.
