Hackensack, NJ – E-Bike Rider Critical Following Crash at Essex St and Newman StNY/NJ Legal News
Hackensack, NJ (September 02, 2022) – A 26-year-old man riding an e-bike sustained critical injuries during an overnight accident on Friday, September 2nd in Hackensack.
The cyclist and his 20-year-old passenger were riding eastbound along Essex Street when he collided with an SUV traveling southbound on Newman Street at about 2:30 a.m.
The driver of the SUV then fled the scene.
The victims, both local men, were transported by ambulance to Hackensack Univerity Medical Center. The cyclist’s injuries were classified as life-threatening.
The Hackensack Police Traffic Bureau is investigating the cause of the impact.
