Hackensack, NJ – Eleven Injured, Including Children, in Four-Car Crash on Rt 4

Hackensack, NJ (October 28, 2021) – 11 people, several of them children, were injured during a four-vehicle pile-up accident on Route 4 in Hackensack on Thursday, October 28th.

The accident took place near the Shops at Riverside off Hackensack Avenue when a minivan was struck from behind by a sedan, which was rear-ended by an SUV that was then rear-ended by a second SUV in the lefthand lane of the westbound lanes of Route 4.

Three of the victims were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining nine presumably sought their own medical attention.

City firefighters responded along with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple ambulances were needed to tend to the injured, and multiple wreckers were called to clear the wreckage.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Chain-Reaction Accidents in New Jersey

Hackensack, NJ - Eleven Injured, Including Children, in Four-Car Crash on Rt 4

Despite rear-end collisions being thought of as trivial, many of them cause critical injuries to the occupants of the struck vehicle. These types of crashes usually result in serious neck and back injuries which can be debilitating and adversely impact victims for the rest of their lives.

Accidents involving three or more vehicles can also stem from a single rear-end accident. These accidents are often referred to as pile-up or chain-reaction accidents. They usually occur when the second vehicle crashes into the rear of the first, triggering a domino effect of consecutive rear-end collisions.

An experienced rear-end accident attorney will study various defenses that could apply to your case by reviewing the facts of the crash, interviewing eyewitnesses, and skillfully and shrewdly questioning the defendant during their deposition.

Rear-end accidents are one of the most common kinds of car accidents throughout the state. If you have been injured in a chain-reaction accident, an experienced rear-end accident lawyer in New Jersey can help you get the financial compensation you are entitled to.
