Hope, NY – One Child Killed, One Injured in Auto Collision on Hope Falls Rd

Hope, NY (December 13, 2022) – At around 8:33 a.m. on December 10, police were called to the scene of a serious auto accident on Hope Falls Road in Hope. A report was made concerning a one-vehicle collision that ended in injuries. 

The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle was occupied by two adults and two children, both aged 5. The car left the roadway and hit a tree. The driver, age 25, and one five-year-old child were airlifted to Albany Medical Center with internal injuries.

A passenger, age 23, and a one-year-old child were taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital by ambulance. The one-year-old child lost her life a short time after arriving. The second child remains in critical condition. 

Both adults were reportedly in stable condition. 

State Police were assisted at the crash scene by LifeNet of New York, New York State Forest Rangers, Hope Volunteer Fire Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Northville Fire Department, Northampton Ambulance, Edinburg Volunteer Fire Company, and Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Service. 

Authorities in Hope continue to investigate the details of the accident.
