Howell Twp, NJ – One Life Taken by Crash on Lanes Mill Rd near Lanes Pond Rd, Four Injured
Howell Twp, NJ (September 7, 2023) – A man from Lakewood, age 51, lost his life in a collision while four others sustained injuries in Howell Township. Reports show the incident occurred just after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6.
The wreck was reported on Lanes Mill Road near Lanes Pond Road when an SUV was heading east. The man was operating the vehicle when he left the roadway while attempting to negotiate a curve and struck a concrete mailbox.
The collision forced the SUV to spin around, hit a brick wall, and turn over. The driver became trapped inside the vehicle where he lost his life at the scene. Two children and two adults inside the vehicle at the time of the collision sustained injuries. They were transported to an area medical center for treatment.
The identities of the involved individuals have not been reported at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
