New York Auto Collisions
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently completed a report stating that there has been an 11% increase in auto collisions in the US since 2015. Each year, more than 6 million auto accidents are reported in the US that cause over 3 million individuals to sustain injuries. Regrettably, approximately 40,000 individuals lose their lives in these wrecks yearly. Driver negligence is the leading cause of the majority of crashes that happen in the United States, causing 90-99% of all reported collisions.
Negligent drivers are the main reason most auto collisions take place in the US and throughout the Empire State. Whether a driver is texting, speeding, or simply disobeying traffic rules, this type of behavior almost always leads to severe collisions that end in injuries or fatalities. Oftentimes, negligent drivers are forced to spend time in jail and pay steep fines related to their careless and/or reckless conduct.
As our country’s population continues to increase, the number of careless, angry, inexperienced, and inattentive drivers continues to as well. Roadways that are overly congested are just one of the many contributors to the increased number of auto collisions. Another common reason negligently caused accidents happen is driver distraction. On average, over 400,000 crashes are caused yearly due to the actions of distracted drivers.
