Can School Districts Be Held Liable for a Bus Collision in Williamstown, NJ?Injury School Bus Crash on N. Tuckahoe Rd

School districts can be held liable for a bus collision in Williamstown, NJ if the driver or the district failed to follow safety protocols, but claims against a public entity like a school district follow different rules than a typical injury claim.

New Jersey's Tort Claims Act requires that a formal notice be filed within 90 days when a public entity such as a school district may be responsible.

Passengers involved in a multi-vehicle collision with a large vehicle, such as a bus or dump truck, can face injuries that can range from minor bruising to more serious neck or back trauma due to the size and weight differences between vehicles.

When children are involved in these types of crash, it is important they receive ongoing observation even when initial injuries appear mild. Medical evaluation soon afterward helps document the full extent of any harm.

Claims against a school district involve strict notice deadlines and government immunity protections, and a personal injury lawyer can help make sure paperwork is filed correctly and on time.

Working with an attorney can also help identify every vehicle and party that may share responsibility, including a bus operator, a trucking company, or another driver.

Crashes that involve a school bus or public vehicle can raise legal questions that don't come up in a typical accident. If you are dealing with the aftermath of an accident like this, our team at Metro Law is here to help.
