Jericho, NY – Two Teens Killed in Wrongway DUI Crash, Two Injured on Rt 106
Jericho, NY (May 4, 2023) – Two teenagers lost their lives in a fatal collision that happened on Wednesday night, May 3, in Jericho, Nassau County. Reports show a wrong-way driver crashed into their vehicle.
Sources say the crash happened on Route 106 when a 34-year-old, identified as Amandeep Singh, was driving on the wrong side of the road and slammed into another vehicle occupied by four teenagers. The driver was identified as a 17-year-old, the front seat passenger was 16, and two 14-year-olds were in the back seat.
The two teens who were riding in the back were pronounced deceased on-site by medical professionals. Why the crash occurred is still under investigation by area authorities at this time.
The two other teenagers were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Their current health conditions have not been reported.
The roadway was closed for an extended period of time on Wednesday while emergency crews worked at the scene. Police say Singh was obviously intoxicated and is facing several charges, including vehicular homicide, in connection with the crash.
