Jersey City, NJ – Body Recovered After Being Struck by NJ Transit Light Rail at Washington St and First St

Jersey City, NJ (July 21, 2022) – A body was found on the tracks of a New Jersey Transit railroad in Jersey City on Thursday, July 21st.  

The unidentified adult male was struck by a New Jersey Transit train on the Hudson-Bergen light rail line in the area of the First Street and Washington Street crossing at about 2:00 a.m.

An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the exact cause of death.  

This incident is being investigated by the New Jersey Transit Police.
