New Jersey Car Crashes
Auto collisions occur all the time in the United States and across the Garden State. Surprisingly, more than 17,000 car crashes occur throughout the country each day. Around 7,500 people suffer injuries in these wrecks, while more than 100 end up losing their lives due to the severity of their injuries. A lot of auto accidents happen due to bad weather or car problems. However, the majority of auto collisions in the US happen due to driver negligence. Negligent driving, especially in the past decade, has become a serious and problematic issue in the US and the state of New Jersey. The National Highway Traffic Safety Association found that over 93% of reported auto collisions in the United States are caused by negligent drivers.
So many different forms of negligent driving exist, however, the most common include intoxication, distraction, fatigue, and speeding. Drivers who are distracted, mostly by their cell phones, cause over 400,000 auto accidents per year and take the lives of around 3,000 people annually. Additionally, fatigued driving is behind around 100,000 accidents, while speeding causes over 11,000 annual fatalities. Sadly, the majority of injurious and fatal accidents in the US are preventable and caused by the actions of drivers who are acting recklessly, carelessly, or otherwise negligently.
