Jersey City, NJ – Man Badly Injured in Collision With Stolen Vehicle at West Side Ave and Roosevelt AveNY/NJ Legal News
Jersey City, NJ (March 11, 2022) – The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department were called to investigate a hit-and-run that left a man critically injured on Friday, March 11th.
At about 4:55 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and West Side Avenue. Upon their arrival, police located the driver of a Toyota RAV4, later identified as a 63-year-old man from Elizabeth, with serious injuries.
He was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
An investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit concluded that the Toyota RAV4 was heading eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue when it collided with a Chevrolet Camaro, later determined to have been stolen moments prior, traveling northbound on West Side Avenue.
After the accident, the driver of the Camaro fled on foot.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department continue to investigate.
