Jersey City, NJ – Pedestrian Hurt in Accident on Newark Ave near Coles St
Jersey City, NJ (May 16, 2023) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured one person in Jersey City on Monday, May 15. Prosecutors said that at approximately 12:00 a.m., a pedestrian was struck on Newark Avenue.
The Jersey City Police Department reports that the wreck occurred on Newark Avenue in the area of Coles Street, a very busy area.
Police found a resident of Jersey City, age 35, at the intersection with serious injuries. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
The injured victim was transported by paramedics to the Jersey Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
The Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit are currently investigating.
