Kearny, NJ – Bicyclist Loses Life in Crash on Route 1&9 near Central Ave

Kearny, NJ (July 27, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Monday morning in the Kearny area claimed one person’s life. At around 3:25 a.m., on July 26, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Route 1&9.

Reports from authorities indicate that a bicyclist was traveling in the area of Route 1&9 and Central Avenue when they were struck by a vehicle. The rider was ejected from his bicycle.

The victim sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
