Kearny, NJ – Fire Incident on Elm St Leaves One InjuredNY/NJ Legal News
Kearny, NJ (July 21, 2021) – A firefighter was left injured as a result of a 4-alarm fire incident reported on Sunday morning. At approximately 9:10 a.m., on July 18, emergency crews were notified that a fire occurred on Elm Street.
Reports from officials show that a 4-alarm fire broke out on the top floor of a two-and-a-half-story wood-framed home located at 40 Elm Street during the morning hours. The incident caused moderate damage to the structure.
Crews arrived at the scene and located flames engulfing much of the structure as thick smoke poured out of the windows. By 2:35 p.m., the fire was upgraded to a 6-alarm incident. Crews spent an extended time battling the blaze.
One firefighter suffered injuries in the incident and was transported to a local hospital for further care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
