House Fires in New Jersey
Injuries resulting from fires are both physically and emotionally traumatic. Almost everyone has sustained a minor burn from ironing, cooking, or other daily activity, but burns sustained in house fires usually cover large areas of the body, are extremely painful, and could produce serious infections and skin loss, opening the door to other grave medical conditions.
After they heal, burns can leave behind scars so disfiguring they require surgical intervention. The subsequent emerging scar tissue can make everyday movements difficult and painful.
A serious burn can take years to fully heal. In some cases, the victim never fully recovers. Burn victims often require hospitalization in specialized wards where they must undergo numerous surgeries and other treatments to get their skin as functional and normal-looking as possible. Many victims also require psychiatric care due to the trauma of the event and living with disfiguring scars.
Proper medical care for burn victims is costly. If your burn injuries were the result of another person’s reckless, careless, or malicious behavior, you are entitled to seek compensation for your physical, financial, and emotional losses.
