Linden, NJ – Elderly Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck by Car on S. Wood AveNY/NJ Legal News
Linden, NJ (April 20, 2022) – An elderly local resident is in the hospital recovering from serious injuries he sustained when he was hit by a car as he crossed South Wood Avenue on Tuesday, April 19th.
According to sources, officers responded at about 6:40 p.m. to the 300th block of South Wood Avenue for reports of a pedestrian injured in a car accident.
A 2004 Nissan Maxima was heading northbound on South Wood Avenue when it struck a 71-year-old man as he was trying to cross the street.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Newark University Hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old woman from Carteret, was unharmed during the impact.
