Lodi, NJ – Two-Vehicle Accident Takes One Life on I-80 near Milepost 64.1
Lodi, NJ (July 25, 2023) – One man lost his life in a two-car accident on Sunday morning, July 23, at around 9:00 a.m. on Interstate 80.
Responders went to the scene, located near milepost 64.1, to render aid shortly after the collision occurred. Michael Ruscher was seated in his pickup truck parked on the right shoulder when his vehicle was struck by a passing car.
The impact of the collision pushed Ruscher’s vehicle into a concrete wall, sources said. Ruscher, a Ringoes resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical professionals.
The other driver, a 21-year-old man from Passaic, suffered moderate injuries. The right lane of the interstate was closed for over four hours while crews worked to help at the crash scene.
Police in Lodi continue to investigate.
