Head-On Accidents and Driver Liability in New Jersey
If a head-on crash was caused by another motorist’s irresponsible behavior, then seriously injured victims could be entitled to file a suit against them.
Your basic compensatory damages could cover multiple damages, including:
- Medical expenses
- Vehicle replacement or repair
- Pain and suffering
- Lost income
In New Jersey, as in many other states, liability is determined via a system of modified comparative fault. This means victims are only expected to prove that the other driver was at least 51% responsible for the crash. Once this is proven, they are allowed to seek compensation for any losses resulting from the event.
In New Jersey, injured victims can pursue compensatory, general, and punitive damages. A claimant seeking compensatory damages is involved in just about every single head-on collision case that goes to court. Winning your case means that you will be awarded economic recovery for any injuries and property damage that you have endured.
Our team works diligently to help victims hold those at fault accountable and collect the maximum amount of compensation for medical treatment, lost wages, and various other damages resulting from their accidents.
