Manchester, NJ – Several Injured When Dump Truck Driver Runs Red Light at Manchester Blvd and Wranglebrook Rd

Manchester, NJ (May 04, 2022) – Multiple people were injured during a four-vehicle accident on Wednesday, May 4th at the intersection of Wrangleborrk Road and Manchester Boulevard in the Whiting area of Manchester Township at about 8:00 a.m.

An investigation determined that the driver of a 2021 Ford F450 dump truck, 24-year old Eric Bair, a resident of Manahawkin, was traveling northbound on Manchester Boulevard when he ran a stoplight at the intersection of Wranglebrook Road intersection and collided with a westbound 2011 Ford Escape driven by 55-year-old Jeffery Allen, a resident of Whiting.

Due to the impact, the Ford Escape was forcibly redirected into the northbound lanes and the dump truck into the southbound lanes of Manchester Boulevard where a 2014 Ford E450 bus, driven by South Toms River resident 62-year-old Betty Brushaber, and a 2019 Mercedes Benz A22, driven by 64-year old Angel Plunkett, were waiting at their respective traffic lights.

The dump truck then collided head-first with the bus and then left the roadway.

The bus turned on its rear side tires and then hit the Mercedes.

Bair, Brushaber, and Allen were all transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment of injuries believed to be non-critical.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
