New Jersey Truck Accidents
Truck collisions are usually more severe than other types of crashes. The fact that semi-trucks weigh a lot more, and are much larger than average passenger vehicles, means that they are likely going to cause severe damage if they become involved in traffic collisions. Sadly, thousands are killed in truck accidents per year i the United States. Tens of thousands more are left with injuries due to these wrecks.
Numerous factors can contribute to a severe truck crash. Some of the most common causes of truck wrecks in New Jersey include:
- Driver error: Truck drivers are usually under a lot of pressure to meet deadlines, which can cause them to engage in risky behavior like speeding. This can lead to accidents that cause injuries and even fatalities.
- Mechanical failures: Semi-trucks are complex machines that require constant maintenance to remain in safe working order. If a truck is not properly maintained, it can end up with mechanical problems that can cause collisions
- Poor road conditions: New Jersey roads can be in poor condition, especially during winter weather. Potholes, ice, and snow can all contribute to truck accidents.
Unfortunately, those who are victimized in truck crashes are often faced with overwhelming financial problems related to the costs that stem from their accident and injuries. Some damages that may be eligible for financial compensation when you work with an attorney after your truck accident include:
- Lost wages
