Manhattan, NY – Two Dead in Suspected DUI Crash on FDR Dr Near E. 72nd St

Manhattan, NY (March 04, 2022) – A driver believed to be under the influence crashed his car into a wall on FDR Drive on Friday, March 4th killing two passengers believed to be his sister and her girlfriend.

The 33-year-old male was traveling northbound on FDR Drive in the area of East 72nd Street on the city’s Upper East Side at about 4:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the sidewall along the roadway. 

Both passengers died at the scene.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is expected to survive and be taken into custody. Charges are pending.
