Mercer County, NJ – One Killed in Car Crash on US Route 1 near Carnegie Center BlvdNY/NJ Legal News
Mercer County, NJ (June 29, 2021) – One person has lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in West Windsor, according to local authorities. On Saturday evening, June 26, authorities and West Windsor were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Route 1.
Reports provided by the West Windsor police show that a Volkswagen Passat was traveling south along US Route 1 when it became involved in a collision near Carnegie Center Boulevard.
The impact of the crash sent the Passat off the road where it crashed into a utility pole, then struck a road sign, and collided with the second utility pole, before entering back into the road. The vehicle was then struck by a black Chevrolet Cruze on the southbound side of the road.
The front seat passenger of the Passat was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he passed away from his injuries. The driver of the Passat and two other passengers were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center for treatment.
At this time the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
