Middletown, NJ – Multi-Vehicle Collision on Rt 36 near East Rd
Middletown, NJ (May 19, 2023) – A multi-car accident occurred on a roadway in Middletown. Reports from authorities show the collision took place at around 7:27 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.
According to reports, the wreck happened near the intersection of Route 36 and East Road in Bedford, closing Route 36 for several hours on Thursday night.
A driver was traveling the wrong way on Route 36, which caused the accident to happen. Four vehicles were involved in the crash, injuring two people.
The two injured victims were transported to Riverview Medical Center to receive treatment. Their identities have not been reported at this time.
The Middletown Township First Aid and Rescue Squad, Hackensack paramedics, Belford Engine Fire Company, and Middletown Township Police worked at the scene in an effort to help those involved.
Emergency crews continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
