Montvale, NJ (June 18, 2021) – One man from New York has lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in the Montvale area on Thursday evening. At approximately 7:10 p.m., on June 17, the New Jersey State Police responded to the scene of a crash on the Garden State Parkway.
Reports from the state police show that 77-year-old Howard Perlman was traveling north on the right lane of the Garden State Parkway when his Toyota Venza was struck by a second vehicle near mile marker 172.3.
The impact of the crash sent the Toyota off the road where it collided with several trees.
Perlman, who is from Hopewell Junction in Dutchess County, was rushed to Nyack Hospital with severe injuries. Authorities confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries after arriving.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway with the New Jersey State Police.
