Morristown, NJ – Fatal Hit-and-Run on Lafayette Ave near Lacakawanna Pl

Morristown, NJ (August 14, 2023) – A resident of Morristown was charged related to a deadly hit-and-run collision that took place over the weekend in Morristown. Police say the accident took place at around 9:00 p.m. on Lafayette Avenue. 

What caused the incident to occur has not been reported at this time. Sources say Jermaine Edwards, 51, was charged after he struck a pedestrian with his vehicle on Saturday, August 12. The pedestrian was reportedly walking near Lafayette Avenue and Lackawanna Place, police said. 

Jermaine is accused of knowingly fleeing the scene of the accident that resulted in death. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was pronounced deceased on-site by responding medical professionals. 

No other details have been reported at this time.
