New Paltz, N.Y. – One Dead and Several Wounded After Accident on Henry W. Dubois DriveRobert A. Solomon, P.C.
strong>New Paltz, N.Y. (April 1, 2019) – One person has died and many others have been injured following a two-vehicle accident, police say. The New York vehicle accident occurred on Saturday around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Henry W. Dubois Drive and North Oakwood Terrace.
Police say that their investigation at the time of this article shows that a 2008 Volvo S40, which was being driven by 19-year-old Abram Almahari of New Paltz, was driving west on Henry W. Dubois Drive when he rear-ended a 2012 Toyota Scion XD which was stopped at a stop sign. The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to spin in the roadway and go backward down the north shoulder of Henry W. Dubois Drive while the Volvo crossed to the south shoulder, where it struck a rock embankment, overturned, and then hit a tree.
A passenger in the Volvo, 25-year-old Jade N. Randazzo, died at the scene of the accident. Two others in the Volvo, including Almahari, were taken to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for injuries they sustained in the accident. Another passenger in the Volvo was taken to Vassar Brother Medical Center in Poughkeepsie with internal injuries. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 43-year-old Charlie Rodriguez, of Highland, was taken to Vassar Brother Medical Center to treat internal injuries.
Police are still investigating the accident.
